PST files are the local archive files Outlook uses to store mail on a computer. If your email history lives in PST files — rather than on a live mail server — we can bring that mail into Microsoft 365.
What moves
The mail held in your PST files is imported into the matching Microsoft 365 mailboxes, so old messages sit alongside new ones instead of being stranded on a single computer.
What to plan for
Organise the PST files themselves — gathered from the computers they live on — and a clear match of which PST belongs to which user. PST files can be large, so collecting them before we start keeps the import clean. It’s also a good moment to consolidate years of local archives into properly backed-up cloud mailboxes.
Which option and licensing
A PST source needs a Microsoft 365 tenant to import into, so you’ll choose Email + setup or Email + full setup. See Which migration option do you need? and Business Basic, Standard or Premium?
Getting started
Collect the PST files and note which user each belongs to (see Before your migration starts), then talk to our team.
