Moving from IMAP or POP email
Mailboxes, calendars and files, moved to Microsoft 365 and set up to work on day one.

If your email runs on a generic IMAP or POP mail server — often from a web host or a smaller provider — you can still move to Microsoft 365.

What moves

Your mail messages migrate into Microsoft 365 mailboxes. IMAP and POP are email-only protocols, so what transfers is the mail itself.

What to plan for

Because IMAP/POP don’t carry calendars and contacts the way a full mail platform does, those are handled separately where they exist. We’ll confirm what’s available from your current provider and make sure your mail lands correctly organised. Have the server details and each account’s access ready.

Which option and licensing

An IMAP/POP source is not a Microsoft 365 account, so you’ll choose Email + setup or Email + full setup. See Which migration option do you need? and Business Basic, Standard or Premium?

Getting started

Gather your mail server details and account list (see Before your migration starts), then talk to our team.
